He is actively involved in various important services in the field of cybersecurity.
He serves as the Communications Sub-group Chair for the IoT Security Workgroup under the Ministry of
Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY), Government of India. Additionally, he is an
Expert Member of the CERT-UK Committee, which focuses on CyberSecurity Guidelines, under the Department of
Information Technology, Government of Uttarakhand.
He has made significant contributions to the academic community as the Founding Faculty Advisor of the
ACM IITR Students Chapter and the Treasurer of the IEEE Roorkee Section. Sateesh is also a member of the
Board of Studies (BoS) for multiple universities.With regard to his research publications, Sateesh has
authored/co-authored numerous papers, including 63 research publications.
He has co-authored a book published by Springer and edited eight books, six of which were published by
Springer, one by IGI, and one by another publisher. His work has been published in various reputable
journals such as IEEE TIFS, IEEE Potentials, and IEEE Access, among others. He has also contributed to
over 35 conferences, including prestigious events like IEEE Mobicom, IEEE TrustCom, and IEEE MASS,
as well as ICDCN, ISC, and CLUSTER.
Sateesh has been actively involved in research guidance, supervising and mentoring several students.
He has successfully guided six Ph.D. candidates, with another eleven currently working under his
supervision. Additionally, he has supervised the completion of 44 M.Tech projects, with two ongoing.
In terms of research projects, Sateesh has been successful in securing significant grants and cash flow,
totaling INR 580 Lakhs (Indian Rupees). This includes INR 480 Lakhs in research grants as a Principal
Investigator (PI) and Co-PI, as well as INR 100 Lakhs in consultancy grants. Sateesh has contributed to
the professional community by serving in various capacities. He is the Founding Steering Committee Chair
of the SLICE workshop and has taken on organizing, program, and web chair roles for IEEE MASS 2020, which
is ranked as B. He has also served as the Publicity Chair for BDA 2022 and as the Program Chair for ICICC-22,
ICCISC 2022, and ICRTC 2022. Additionally, he actively reviews papers for conferences such as IEEE TCC and
IEEE TSC. His contributions have been recognized through awards, including the Best B.Tech Project Award and
the Best DIC Internship Award.
Sateesh is also actively involved in administrative services at the institute. He serves as a member of
the Institute Technical Committee, Department Academic Program Committee, Department Administrative
Committee, and Department Purchase Committee. He also acts as the Faculty Advisor for M.Tech. (CSE) II
Year and has recently served as the Chief Warden of NHVK.
Overall, Sateesh is a highly accomplished individual with extensive experience in teaching, research,
professional services, and administrative roles. His expertise in the areas of Cyber Security, Cloud
Computing, and Pervasive Computing, along with his contributions to various committees, workshops,
and conferences, highlight his significant contributions to the field.
